Best in Class Observability and Alerting

Highlights from our customer webinar

In the SaaS world, observability refers to the evolution of proactive monitoring. While proactive monitoring captures an event that has happened and alerts us to it, observability helps take that a step further by giving us the ability to be more predictive and ensure we are continually improving the effectiveness of our solutions.

Our support team recently hosted a discussion on the advancements in observability and alerting within the Aptos Cloud. Here are the highlights from the broadcast, which delved into the importance of this topic and showcased new tools for SaaS customers to monitor, analyze and optimize Aptos solution performance.

The Aptos Approach

Our new approach to observability and alerting was built upon critical requirements for an effective platform. This criterion includes:

  1. Data flow: Monitoring the journey of data through the solution.
  2. Automated discovery: Configure monitoring and add new servers in minutes, not hours or days, with minimal manual effort.
  3. Issue identification: Using triggers to spot performance issues and prioritize them based on impact.
  4. Integrated customer visibility: Use Incident Management tools and dashboards to give customers a clear view of their solutions.
  5. Metrics: Use data to determine the health of a solution.
  6. Data interrogation: Connecting the dots using remote data monitoring to find issues or unexpected behaviors.
  7. Secure: Ensuring our tools and your data are protected.
Beta versions of the dashboards, which feature the new observability and alerting tools outlined above, are now available for SaaS customers.

The new OMS beta dashboard lets customers view metrics such as order counts, order routing backlogs, response times and more. NOTE: While some customers have different dashboard styles, this example is of a standard OMS dashboard available to all customers.

Where to find the updates

The new beta dashboards are in the customer portal under the monitoring tab. Additional dashboards are available, including the infrastructure dashboard and the previous time frame.

This view provides a window into server performance data, such as CPU memory disc usage. Similarly, you can view last month's infrastructure performance. The Solution Available dashboard measures application availability for Store, AOM, CRM, Merch, and WMS for the current and previous months. From an alerting standpoint, proactive tickets are available in the customer portal and are raised when our platform identifies a threshold that has been met or exceeded. Here, you can view all open issues and their latest updates.
